Jewish Summer Camp Scholarships, Grants & Financial Aid

BB360 is committed to affordability, keeping camp fees as low as possible, and ensuring no child is turned away from camp. In addition, BB Men’s Camp Association, Foundation for Jewish Camp, and Jewish Federation have generously provided Grants so that as many kids as possible can benefit from a rich Jewish camp experience. These grants are available to all Jewish campers regardless of financial need. Need based financial assistance is also available.

Financial Assistance

Camp Experience: Campers enrolled in any BB Camp or BB Day Camp programs.
Eligibility: Rising K-11 graders in the Fall
How to Apply: Complete online Camp registration via CampMinder. After enrollment is confirmed, the Financial Aid application will be available in your CampInTouch account.

We try to accommodate all those in need of financial assistance. Please complete the online Camp registration form and submit your deposit for summer camp. The deposit is refundable if the camper is unable to attend Camp for financial reasons. Cancellations must be made in writing to the Camp Office within 14 days of receiving notification of financial award. After enrollment is confirmed, a Financial Aid Application and instructions will be available on your CampInTouch account. Please contact Sylvia Smith at ssmith@bbcamp.org for questions.

Grants (One Grant Available Per Session)

Maccabee Dor L’Dor Grant

Grant Amount: $1,000 grant

Eligibility:
 • First-time attending BB Overnight Camp (past Shabbaton campers are eligible).
 • Must be registered for the Maccabee One-Week Session.
 • Camper must identify as Jewish.
• Entering 2nd-5th grade in the Fall.

How to Apply: No application necessary.  Grant will automatically be applied to your camper’s account upon enrollment.

Notification: Camper family will be notified that a Maccabee Dor L’dor Grant of $1000, funded by B’nai B’rith Men’s Camp Association, has been applied to their account.

Future Grant Eligibility: Camper will not be eligible again for a Maccabee Dor L’dor Grant, but will be eligible to apply for a One Happy Camper Grant by registering for the first time at a future BB Camp session lasting more than two weeks.

Israeli-American Incentive Grant

Grant Amount: $1,000-1,500 depending on length of session

Camp Experience:
 • 1st-year incentive: Camper must not have attended any Jewish overnight camp for more than 10 days prior to current summer (Campers who previously attended BB Camp’s Maccabee session are eligible).
 • 2nd-year incentive: Campers who are spending their second summer at BB Camp (for at least 12 days) may be eligible.

Eligibility:
 • At least one parent of the camper is Israeli (or the camper themselves is Israeli-born).
 • Family must live in California, Arizona, Colorado, Oregon, or Washington States.
 • Families will be asked to complete a pre-summer and post-summer survey.

How to apply: Scholarship application opens in the spring

One Happy Camper Grant

Grant Amount: $1,500 grant if enrolled for 3+ weeks / $700 grant if enrolled for 2 weeks

Camp Experience:
 • Campers enrolled for 12+ consecutive days for the first time are eligible.
 • If the camper has attended a 1-week session, they are still eligible.

Eligibility:
• Must be entering grades 2-12 in the Fall.
• Camper must identify as Jewish.

Operation Sumer Camp: Grant for Children of U.S. Armed Forces

Grant Amount: Funds will cover the cost of up to four weeks at BB Camp for up to three consecutive summers.

Eligibility:
 •  Camper must identify as Jewish. Eligible campers are rising 5th-8th graders, though consideration can be given to those slightly older or younger in unique circumstances and with prior written approval from JWB Jewish Chaplains Council.

• At least one parent currently on active duty or discharged from the US armed services within the last three years are eligible to apply for a scholarship.

Russian-Speaking Jewish Families

Grant Amount: Determined upon application review.

Eligibility: Camper must have been born or have at least 1 parent from the former USSR countries.

Small Communities Grant

Grant Amount: $1,500 grant for campers enrolled for 3+ weeks / $1,000 grant for campers enrolled for 2 weeks.

Camp Experience: Campers enrolled for 12+ consecutive days for the first time are eligible.

Eligibility:
 • Must be entering grades 1-12 in the Fall.
 • Camper must identify as Jewish.
 • Family lives in a community of fewer than approximately 10,000 Jewish residents
 • Camper does not attend Jewish day school or yeshiva

Other Financial Resources

JEWISH FEDERATION OF LANE COUNTY CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS – Scholarships are available to Lane County (OR) residents for any and all Jewish sleep away summer camps, Israel programs, and youth conferences that have Jewish content.

JEWISH FREE LOAN OF GREATER PORTLAND – Provides no-interest loans for 36 months to residents of Oregon and SW Washington.

JEWISH FEDERATION OF GREATER SEATTLE SCHOLARSHIPS – The Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle supports children’s formative Jewish experiences by awarding scholarships, which lower financial barriers to participating in programs that strengthen Jewish identity and give kids a strong start on their Jewish journeys.

Synagogues and/or Jewish Federations in your area may offer other resources. Please inquire with your local agencies about other potential opportunities.
