Position:Special Events Coordinator
Location:BB360 Office (Portland); Hybrid
Dates & Hours:Part-time, Seasonal
Salary:$25-30/Hour, DOE

Position Summary:  

The Special Events Coordinator will guide the operations, planning, lead-up, and implementation of fundraising and development events, which primarily run from March through May. Ideal candidate will have skills in event planning, fundraising, database management, and marketing.  

Key Responsibilities:

Work with established BB Bash Committee to design and implement a gala celebration which will include:  

  • Event and table sponsorships
  • Ticket Sales
  • Pre-Mitzvah and Mitzvah Moment donations
  • Coordinating Auction procurement and implementation
  • Raffle and event games
  • Run of Show and scripted program

Plan and run other friend-raising and fundraising events

  • Focus on logistics, vendors, registration, database management, décor, and theme
  • Manage events within a budget – both for event expenses and income 
  • Coordinate all fundraising aspects of events. Work with Development Director on paddle raise, pitch, and matching gift
  • Work closely with the Marketing and Communications Director on all marketing pieces
  • Events include, but are not limited to: BB Camp Bash, Spaghetti Dinner, Central Coast Community Seder, Golf Tournament. Stewardship Events (Volunteer Appreciation & Legacy Society.)

Coordinate event database management and data needs between multiple databases including post-event reconciliation. 

Evaluate and report on events with a focus on improvement for future years  

Qualifications and Job Requirements: 

  • Three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • 1-3 years experience in event management 
  • Strong knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, and other MS Office programs 
  • Experience with donor and event databases 
  • Ability to perform a wide variety of duties and responsibilities with accuracy and speed under the pressure of time-sensitive deadlines 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills 
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills 
  • Good “people” skills important 
  • Energy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude

Position:Assistant Director of Community Care
Location:Remote-hybrid; BB360 Office (Portland); BB Camp (near Lincoln City)
Dates & Hours:Part-time during academic year. Hours vary per month; Full-time during summer season
Salary:$28/ hour (during academic year)
$9,000 (June 11- August 11)

Position Summary:  

The Assistant Director of Community Care is licensed and certified to deliver best-practice, trauma-informed care to children, teens, and young adults with mental and behavioral health challenges. The position is responsible for building a vibrant Jewish community by providing culturally competent mental, emotional, social, and physical health services, overseeing campers’ and staff care, and the well-being of the diverse BB Camp community. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, working closely, training, developing relevant strategies, and communicating with parents, staff, and campers on issues related to mental, emotional, and social health (MESH), including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief/ loss, relationship issues, emotional regulation, social skills, and group dynamics to ensure a successful camp experience. Duties include recruitment, screening, intake and orientation, evaluation and intervention, treatment planning, referrals, counseling, training, patient education, case management, reporting, record keeping, and information collection.  

Qualifications and Job Requirements: 

  • Master’s Degree in social work, psychology, or special education preferred.  Oregon licensed and registered mental-health clinician in good standing with their board welcomed.
  • 3+ years of experience in youth mental health with a proven track record
  • Experience in Jewish camping or similar non-profit work.
  • Familiarity with Jewish traditions and values; Passion for Jewish experiential and informal education, youth development, and community-building.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills
  • Strong group facilitation, training, and presentations skills.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Proven supervisory skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate effectively with several stakeholders (parents, counselors, unit supervisors, medical staff, camp administration, etc.)

Position:Maintenance Technician
Location:BB Camp (near Lincoln City)

Salary:$19-22/ hour, DOE; Non-exempt

Position Summary:  

BB Camp seeks a dynamic, experienced Maintenance Technician to perform various non-routine and skilled maintenance activities on the facilities’ buildings, grounds, and equipment. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for assisting in maintaining and improving BB Camp’s physical spaces. This includes, but is not limited to, assisting in housekeeping and maintenance needs, cleaning common areas, maintaining and improving landscaping, and assisting on large ongoing maintenance projects. 

The Maintenance Technician will report to the Facilities Director and work closely and collaboratively with the organization’s staff members, campers, and guests.  

Qualifications and Job Requirements: 

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent 
  • At least 1 year of experience in maintenance work preferred 
  • Proven leadership and communication skills 
  • Ability to work in a team environment and to collaborate effectively with several different stakeholders. 
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills 
  • Proven experience in maintenance and repair activities
